Fighting at the front throughout the day, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crews finished the first leg of Rally Australia in second and fourth positions, with Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen ahead of Kris Meeke/Chris Patterson. Khalid Al-Qassimi and Scott Martin ended the day in the top 10 of the overall standings in the third DS3 WRC.
